Nondiscrimination Policy
The San Diego County Dental Foundation (SDCDF) is committed to fostering an inclusive environment that reflects the diversity of the community we serve. We value and respect the dignity and worth of every individual.
In alignment with federal, state, and local laws, the Foundation does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, marital status, disability, veteran status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
This policy applies to all aspects of the Foundation’s operations, including but not limited to:
- Employment and volunteer opportunities
- Selection of board members and leadership
- Participation in programs, scholarships, and services
- Partnerships, sponsorships, and community engagement activities
SDCDF is dedicated to ensuring that our programs, services, and workplace are free from discrimination, harassment, and barriers to participation. We actively seek to advance equity and inclusion in oral health, recognizing that diverse voices and perspectives strengthen our mission to improve access to care and promote dental health for all.
Whistleblower Policy
The San Diego County Dental Foundation (SDCDF) is committed to the highest standards of ethics, integrity, and accountability. In keeping with this commitment, the Foundation expects its directors, officers, employees, and volunteers to observe high standards of business and personal ethics in the conduct of their duties and responsibilities.
Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:
- Encourage the reporting of suspected unethical or illegal activity, including concerns about fraud, misuse of Foundation resources, conflicts of interest, violations of law or policy, or other improper conduct.
- Provide a clear process for raising such concerns in good faith.
- Assure individuals that they will be protected from retaliation for making a good-faith report.
Reporting
Anyone with a concern regarding possible violations of laws, regulations, or Foundation policies should promptly report the matter to the Executive Director, Board President, or any officer of the Foundation. Concerns may also be reported anonymously if the individual prefers.
Confidentiality
Reports will be handled as confidentially as possible, consistent with the need to conduct an appropriate investigation.
No Retaliation
No director, officer, employee, volunteer, or other individual who in good faith reports a concern shall suffer harassment, retaliation, or adverse consequences. Any person who retaliates against a whistleblower will be subject to corrective action, up to and including removal or termination.
Accountability
The Foundation’s Board of Directors will ensure that all reported concerns are investigated promptly, addressed appropriately, and resolved in a manner consistent with applicable laws and policies.
